We’ve all heard Henri Bendel name-dropped on Gossip Girl (just last episode a la Jenny - “Mom, the girls at my school shop at Saks and Bendels, I can’t wear somebody’s old shoes”) and of course the cast has filmed there a few times as well.  It turns out Bendels is getting lots of attention from Gossip Girl fans:

Just ask the staff at Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue. It seems the ritzy retail store has seen a spike in curious visitors dropping by to inquire about the show, which has filmed scenes on the premises. Bendel’s Web site and general phone number have also been seeing an increase in usage. And because they have been keeping a record of the surge times, they’ve discovered that most of hits and calls happen after the CW show airs.

Read the rest at The New York Observer.  It turns out Bendels has also gotten a little hipper with an online store where you can purchase items.  Now all we need is Zara to move their clothing online!

Based off the novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, the show was an immediate success for people of all ages. What stood out most, other than the scandalous plots, racy scenes and beautiful cast, was the fashion of the show. What Sex and the City did to Manolo Blahnik shoes, Gossip Girl does for Bendels.
